7) If you open the wooden cabinet above the toilet in the head, the heat coming through the
vent warms up the chamber.
8) To turn off the heat, rotate the thermostat back to its lowest temp and wait for the blower
to stop.
9) Then push in the knob to shut it down.
Navigational Aids
1) This vessel is equipped with Nobeltek software chart and GPS.
2) To turn on the Nobeltek, locate the inverter next to the inside helm on the STBE side.
3) The inverter is below the wheel. Turn the switch on at the inverter.
4) Turn the laptop on.
5) Turn on the GPS to the right of the laptop.
6) Once the laptop boots up (3 minutes later) double click the Nobletek button and the
software comes on.
7) The program shows the boats location on the chart. You can zoom in on the boat to
check for navigational hazards and zoom out to plot a course.
8) The red arrow turns on the current indicator. This shows the current in various places in
the San Juan and Gulf Islands. Please use this as a guide and check with the paper chart
and current tables to verify the information given.
9) Check the clock on the right side of the display to make sure that the chart shows the
correct time. By clicking on the clock and moving the time ahead, you can see where the
currents change in the major channels.
10) The Radar is on the far side of the inside helm. It has its own manual.
11) The main radio is below the shelf with the radar.
12) A handheld radio is also on board for use in the cockpit
Galley
1) The galley consists of 2 alcohol burners on the STBD side next to the inside helm.
2) The alcohol evaporates over time, so there are 2 plastic covers inside the metal tray.
3) Lift the tray and remove the plastic from both burners before cooking.
4) Turn the +/- dials to + and light the burners.
5) To turn off the burners, rotate the dial to _.
6) The alcohol leaves a sooty residue on the bottom of the pots and pans.
7) Put an towel or hot plate under them to avoid getting soot on the counter.
8) There is a propane grill on the AFT PORT rail in the cockpit. It runs on small propane
tanks.
9) Attach the blue regulator to a tank and insert it into the metal pipe at the bottom of the
grill.
10) Press in the dial and rotate to the start position. Light the grill by inserting a match or
lighter into the grill.
11) Turn it off by rotating the dial to the off position. The dial is marked.
12) Leave the blue regulator in the tank once it has been installed.
13) The tank will discharge propane if the regulator is removed unless the tank is empty.
14) Place all propane tanks in the plastic gear bag and hang them from the railing.
15) Propane is heavier than air and highly flammable. The hull of the boat doesn’t give
propane anywhere to go if the tanks leak.
