SideVision™interpretssignalsfromapairof
side-lookingtransducersandbuildsupadetailed
underwaterviewasyourvesselmovesforward.
Thetransducerssendpulsesofsoundwavesinto
thewateroneachsideofyourvessel,andrecord
thesoundwavesthatreectoffthebottom,andoff
objectsonthebottomorsuspendedinthewater
column.Thereceivedechoesareaffectedbythe
bottommaterial(forexamplemud,gravelorrock),
andbyanyotherobjectsintheirpath(forexample
cablesontheseaoor,bridgepiers,wrecks,shoals
orsh).
SideVision™producestwowide–angleside-to-side
beams,eachwithathinfore-to-aftbeam.The
coverageoftheSideVision™beamsisaswathon
eachsideofthevessel.

Thewide,thinbeamsproducecleartargetreturns.
Asyourvesselmovesforward,subsequentreturns
builduptoprovideanimageoftheseaooroneach
sideofyourvessel.
TheuseofCHIRPprocessingandahighoperating
frequencyprovideadetailedimage,makingiteasier
toidentifybottomstructuresaroundwhichshmay
reside.Thenarrowanglethebeamsmakewiththe
bottomatlongerrangescanrevealtheshadowsof
structuresthatprotrudefromthebottom.
