2.2 Switching the Display On and Off
Ifyou have a combined Radar/Chartplotter, the factorydefaultpower-up
modeisradar.Onceyouhaveusedthedisplayunititpowers-upinthelastused
mode.The followingsections describethepower-up sequencein radarand
chartmodes,howtoadjustthelightingand how to selectsimulatormode.
Radar Mode
Thissectionexplainshow toswitchthe radardisplayand scanneron and off,
andhow to switch thescannerbetweenTransmit, StandbyandScannerOff
mode.
Younormallyoperateyourradarintransmitmode,butyoucanusethedisplay
unitwithoutthescanneroperatingas follows:
Standbymode: Youshould use thismode when you arenotoperatingthe
radarfor shorttimeperiods.The scannerdoesnot transmitand theantenna
doesnot rotate,sotheradar uses lesspower. However, the scannerremains
poweredsowhenyoureturntotransmitmode,themagnetrondoesnotneedto
warmup.
Scanneroffmode: You should use thismode when you do notrequirethe
radar,butyouareusingthedisplayunitsay,forchartdataortoviewdatafrom
anothersource.Scanner offmode removes powerfromthe scanner.
To switchthe displayon, press and hold the POWER keyuntilthe unit beeps.
IftheunitwaslastusedinRadarmode,thekeyslightup,thedisplayshowsthe
Pathfindergraphic,followedbythestart-upinformationillustratedbelow,and
the radar starts the magnetron warm-up sequence.
