Chapter 5: Using the Radar 5-25
How do I acquire targets to track?
1. Press TARGET TRACKING. The MARPA soft keys are displayed.
2. Use the trackpad to place the cursor over the target you want to acquire.
3. Press ACQUIRE TARGET.
The ‘target being acquired’ symbol is displayed.
If a target is present for several scans the radar will lock onto it and the
symbol changes to indicate a safe target.
If set to ON, the CPA graphic is displayed.
4. Press OK to return to the default radar.
How do I cancel targets?

To cancel a target from the screen:
1. Use the trackpad to place the cursor over the target you wish to cancel.
2. Press CANCEL TARGET to cancel target tracking and remove the symbol from your
screen.
Press CANCEL ALL TARGETS to remove all the targets in the MARPA list.
The MARPA soft keys are displayed.

To cancel a target from the MARPA list:
1. Press MARPA LIST. The MARPA database list is shown.
2. Use the trackpad to highlight the target you wish to cancel.
3. Press CANCEL TARGET to remove the selected target or
Press CANCEL ALL TARGETS to remove all the targets in the MARPA list.
4. Press OK to remove the MARPA database list.
How do I display the range and bearing of a target?
To display the range and bearing of a target, simply move the cursor over the target.
Your cursor’s position (Csr Pos) is displayed in the data bar.
Note:
If the cursor position is not displayed on the data bar, you will need to add this
data. For details please refer to page 11-2.
