Information
Theboundaryofeachchart digitizedinthe currentcard isdefinedbyaboxor
rectangle.(Youcanswitchoffthechartboundariesdisplayifyouwish,aspart
ofthechartplottersetup describedin Section 7.7.)
➤ To zoomin:
1. Usethetrackpadtomovethecursorinsideoneofthechartboxes,andpress
thelowerpart of theRANGE key.
Thatareais expanded,with the cursorat the centre,so that you can see
moredetail.Notethatthe smallerthechartboxisonthe screen,thefurther
youcan zoom in and the greaterthe amount of detailthat is available.
If you have switched on PlotterMode(see Section 7.7),youcanzoom in
furtherthanthemost detailedchart;all chartfunctionsremainavailable.
Displaying Chart Object and Source Information
Chartcards includeanumberofdisplayed objectsfor whichinformationis
available, such as lightsandbuoys.Theyalsocontain additionalsourcedata
forstructures,lines,open sea areasetc.You can use the context-sensitive
cursortoidentify(inapop-upbox) an objector chartpositionand you can
obtaindetailedinformationfor the selecteditem.
Setupoptionslet you specifywhen an identification pop-up isdisplayed;
threeoptionsare available:
• Display apop-upfor all objectsandsource dataautomaticallywhenthe
cursorisoverthe objectsymbol or sourcearea.
• Display a pop-upfordisplayedobjectswhen thecursorisover thesymbol.
• Donot displaytheidentification pop-ups.
Thechartplotter also providesinformationforthe nearestwaypoint,port
service,port,tide station,wreckorobstruction fora selectedposition. Ifyour
chartincludesport and tidedata,this can be displayed.
➤ To identify an item and obtain detailed information:
1. Movethecursorover the symbol or chartpositionforwhichyourequire
theinformation. If specifiedinChartSetUp,a pop-up box suchas the fol-
lowingis displayedat the lower leftorupperright cornerofthescreen:
2. Toviewdetailedinformation,pressENTER.Thedetailsavailablearelisted
on-screeninanobjectinformationpop-up.
