4. Pressthe FLOAT 1 soft key to float VRM/EBL1, or the FLOAT 2 softkeyto
floatVRM/EBL2.
Thesoftkeys are cleared.The cursor ispositionedover theoriginof the
VRM/EBL,overyour vessel.The cursorhas controloftheVRM/EBL, as
indicated bythe four-headed arrow, the textFLT in inverse video, and the
solidVRM/EBL line.
5. Usethetrackpadto move theoriginof the VRM/EBL to therequiredposi-
tion(overthefirsttarget).
6. PressENTER todroptheVRM/EBLinitsnewposition,orCLEAR toaban-
dontheoperation andreturntheVRM/EBL to itspreviousposition.
Theradarshows the VRM/EBL as a short-dashedline(VRM/EBL1) or a
long-dashed line(VRM/EBL2), and the cursorreturns to normalcontrol.
7. Usethecontext-sensitivecursortotakecontroloftheVRMand/orEBL,to
obtaintherange and/orbearingtoa secondtarget,as previouslydescribed.
8. Readtherange and bearinginformationfromtheVRM/EBLdata box.
Moving and Unfloating a Floating EBL
Youcanmove orunfloataVRM/EBL thathasbeenfloated.You canunfloata
VRM/EBLeitherby using thecontext-sensitivecursoror by using the FLOAT
softkey options.
To move or unfloata floatingVRM/EBL using the cursor:
1. MovethecursorovertheoriginoftheVRM/EBLyouwishtocontrol,until
the letters FLT are displayed.
2. If you wish to unfloat the VRM/EBL, press CLEAR.The originof the
VRM/EBLis resetto your vessel’sposition.
3. Alternatively,ifyouwishtomovethefloatingVRM/EBL,pressENTER to
takecontrol of itandmoveitusingthe trackpad.
PressENTER againtodroptheVRM/EBLin its new position,or CLEAR
toabandonthe operationand returnthe VRM/EBLto itspreviousposi-
tion.
To unfloata floatingVRM/EBL using thekeys:
1. PressVRM/EBL to display the VRM/EBL soft keys.
2. Pressthe FLOAT softkey.
3. PresstheUNF LOAT 1 softkeytounfloatVRM/EBL1,ortheUNFLOAT 2 soft
keytounfloatVRM/EBL2.
Thesoftkeys are cleared,and the VRM/EBL is repositionedwith its ori-
ginatyour vessel’s position.
