Box
TheSeaTalkAuxiliary JunctionBox is usedto connectSeaTalk GPS and
Differentialbeaconreceiversto your display.
Note:Withthe exceptionof the Raystar114, when you use the followingDif-
ferential Beacon Receiverconfigurations,the receivermust be settoAUTO
MODEintheGPSSet-Uppage.Manualselectionswillnotbeaccepted.Refer
to Chapter 6 for details.
Therecommendedmethod of providingposition,courseoverground and
speedover groundinformation to the displaysis by connectiontoa SeaTalk
GPS.The chartplotter and radar/chartplotter displaysaresuppliedwithan
AuxiliaryJunctionBox, whosemainpurposeistomakethisconnection
easier.Thejunction box hastwo flying leads,one with a SeaTalk plug for
connectiontothedisplayandtheother lead is forconnectiontoa12V power
supply(thedisplaydoes notprovidepower for the GPS).
Thefollowingsectionsdetailthe connectionsto the AuxiliaryJunctionBox
forseveral different typesof GPS, includinga beacon receiverif installed.
Exceptfor Raystar114, the differentialbeaconreceiversused areRaymarine
NRD-2A,ApelcoBR101 and the Autohelm Beacon Receiver.
Theconnections detailed inthefollowingsections ensurethatthe GPS will
alwaysoperate inSeaTalk mode. Note thatthe Raystar112LPmustbe the
SeaTalkversion.
