Thereference usedfor the CourseUpdependson theinformationavailable.
Thefirstavailableinthefollowing listis used:
1. A lockedheading (i.e.theheading being usedby anautopilot) over a
SeaTalkconnection
2. Theheadingat thetime CourseUp wasselected
If1. is in use and a new course(lockedheading)is selected,the picture
automatically rotatesto thenew Course Up.
If2. is in use, pressthe HDG MODE softkey then COURSE UP to manually reset
theCourse Up to the new course.
Selecting the Heading and Motion Mode
Pressthe HDG MODE default softkey to obtainthe followingdisplay, when
heading information is available:
Thecurrentlyselectedmodeishighlighted, andisindicated intheradarstatus
bar(N-UP, C-UP orH-UP and TMorRM).
To changethe heading andmotionmode:
1. Pressthe HDG MODE defaultsoftkey.
2. Pressthesoftkeycorrespondingtothemodeyourequire.Theradarpicture
changesto theselectedmode.
3. PressENTER to cleartheheadingmodesoft keys.Thecurrentorientation
is indicated in the status bar.
Note:True Motion is only availablein Course Up and Northupmode.
Ifyou re-selectCourse Up whenthis is alreadythe currentmode,the Course
Upreferenceisreassessed according to thecurrentdata.
Effect on VRM/EBLs
VRM/EBLsdonotmoveonthescreen,unlessyouchangetherange,offsetthe
centre,orchangetheheadingmode.
InHead Up mode, theVRM/EBLsarefixedwithrespecttotheship’s
headingmarker.
InNorthUp mode, the VRM/EBLs are fixedwith respecttoNorth.
InCourseUp mode,the VRM/EBLs are fixed withrespectto theselected
course.
