Thischapter providesinformationon routine maintenanceand onpossible
causesof problems youmayexperiencewithyour display unit.
9.1 Maintenance
WARNING:
Thedisplayunitcontainshighvoltage. Adjustmentsrequirespecialized
serviceproceduresandtoolsonly availableto qualifiedservice
technicians -thereareno userserviceablepartsoradjustmentsandthe
operatorshouldnotattemptto servicetheequipment.Theoperator
shouldnotremovetherearcoverof the display.
Switchoff the displayunitbefore removingthepower cord.
Routine Checks
Thedisplayisasealedunit.Maintenance proceduresaretherefore limitedto
thefollowing periodicchecks:
• Examinethe cablesforsignsofdamage,suchaschafing,cutsornicks.
• Checkthat thecable connectorsarefirmlyattached.
Cleaning Instructions
Cleaning the Display
CAUTION:
Take carewhen cleaningthedisplay. Avoidwipingthedisplayscreen
withadry cloth-thiscould scratchthescreen coating.
Donotuseacid,ammoniabasedor abrasive products.
• Ensurepower is off,wipethedisplaycleanwitha damp cloth.
• Ifnecessary,useIPA(iso-propylalcohol)or a mild detergent solutionto
removegreasemarks.
EMC Servicing and Safety Guidelines
• Raymarineequipmentshouldbe servicedonlybyauthorized Raymarine
servicetechnicians. Theywill ensurethatserviceproceduresand replace-
mentpartsusedwillnotaffect performance. Therearenouserserviceable
partsin any Raymarine product.
• Someproductsgeneratehighvoltages,soneverhandlethecables/connec-
torswhen power is beingsuppliedto the equipment.
