Moving an Existing VRM/EBL
You can move an existingVRM/EBL using the context-sensitive cursor.You
cancontrolthe VRM and EBL separately or both together.
➤ Usethe context sensitivecursortoselect and moveanyVRM and/orEBL. If
youwishtochange theVRM and EBL together, movethecursorover the
intersectionofVRM/EBL.ThelabelindicatesthecurrentobjectasVRM,EBL,
orVRM/EBL. See Moving and deleting itemswith the context-sensitivecursor
onpage 1-17.
Deleting an Existing VRM/EBL
➤ Youcan deletea VRM/EBL by usingtheVRM/EBL key to displaythe soft
keys,andpressingtherequiredVRM /EBL softkeytotogglethesettingfromON
to OFF.
➤ Alternatively, youcan deletean existingVRM/EBL using thecontext-
sensitive cursor as described in Movinganddeletingitemswith the context-
sensitive cursor on page 1-17
Thishas the same effectasturningthe VRM/EBL off using the
VRM/EBLsoftkeys.ItturnsofftheVRM/EBLpair,irrespectiveofthecursor
text:you cannot turnoffVRMs and EBLs independently.
Measuring Range and Bearing Between Targets (FLOAT)
Youcanmeasurethe range and bearingbetween anytwo pointson theradar,
suchas two targets, using the PathfinderPlusRadar’s Float function.This
allowsyou to move the originof a VRM/EBL awayfromyour vessel’s
positionandontoatarget. Youcan thenchangethe angle of the EBL,relative
toitsnew origin,to obtain thebearingbetween twopoints.The radius of the
VRMcanalsobe adjusted todetermine thedistancebetween two points.
Floating a VRM/EBL
Note:You can float a VRM/EBL pair using eitherthe soft keysorthe context-
sensitive cursor.Theprocedureforusingthecursoristhesameasformoving
orunfloatingaVRM/EBLpair,asdescribedbelow;however,asitismoredif-
ficulttolocatethe VRM/EBL originwhenit is overthecenter,youwillproba-
blyfind it easiertousethekeys in this case.
➤ To floata VRM/EBL pairusingthe keys:
1. Ifoneisnotalreadypresent,placeaVRM/EBLpairasdescribedinthepre-
vioussection.
2. PressVRM/EBL to display the VRM/EBL soft keys.
3. Pressthe FLOAT soft key. The softkeysareupdated,withtherelevant
optionsdisplayed.
